Growing our own food has much to offer in difficult times of social distancing and stress under the COVID-19 pandemic. While not many of us have large space for cultivation, a small pot of herbs or vegetables at home can be a great solution to help us relieve stress, learn about sustainable lifestyles and connect with other growers. The first round of #HKUGrowFoodatHome Challenge was launched in September 2020, receiving an overwhelming response from our student community.

In the second round of this challenge, we will be providing more resources, including an all-in-one growing kit, experts’ explanations and briefings, and community support throughout the growing process. Join our challenge to let your plants, as well as our mind and body grow and flourish.

Selected photos of plants will be featured in our social media. Participants who best record their crop-growing journey or use their homegrown crops in their cooking will be rewarded with a pack of crops from the HKU Rooftop Farm's latest harvest!
